Some Changes are A Coming

It's been awhile since I posted on this site, but things have been quite busy.

PRAISE THE LORD! We finally have all the permit stuff taken care of. I want to put out a special thank you to Andrew Golike who took time off work and more to chase all of this stuff down. Thanks to Cary Eidsness, Orville and Coreen Caldwell, and Bud Knapton for going the extra mile on the Restart Team, to make this happen. I also want to thank John Paxson from New Life Church for being so involved and an incredible support to ALC. I thank God for these folks every day.

Let me bring you up to speed on all the happenings.
  • The offices will no longer be at West Gate Inn. I have an office in my home for the time being. The phone number is still the same.
  • Vickie Golike has come on board as a volunteer office manager type person since Coreen had to take another job. I am very sad that we can not pay for the position at this time.
  • Coreen is still involved in small groups, Taste and See, and prayer.
  • At this point it looks like we will have two work Saturdays - Lord willing. We will keep everyone posted as soon as we know what needs to be done. Please try to stay in town to help out.
  • After July 31 we will no longer be worshiping at West Gate Inn. I am very thankful that they have been so good to us during our stay there. We kept our offices there for almost three years and they have been wonderful.
  • You are encouraged to send your support/tithe into the church even for the two weeks that we don't have our regular services. You can send it to Abundant Life Church, PO Box 267 Fruita, CO 81521
  • During the workdays we will have a short time of worship when we break for lunch. So, even if you can't help out perhaps you can break away and join us at lunch.
  • Beginning Saturday August 20 we hope to have our first worship service in the new space. If that is not yet possible, we hope to have it in Circle Park across the street in Fruita. Yes, we are beginning worship on Saturday nights as opposed to Sunday. I do believe and trust that the decision we made was directed by the Lord. I am saddened that some people have expressed that they will not be able to attend. But, please understand that we will do our utmost to get a Sunday service -- albeit simple or in way of a Bible Study -- going as early as late fall. We do believe that we need to have services available on both days to really reach the Fruita community. I urge those of you who are anticipating a Sunday service to "HANG IN THERE" and help us get it going
  • We should be having our neighborhood canvassing started the second week of August. We will need everyone to pull it off well. We want to give our community a good impression.
I want you to know that I have been speaking to many people in Fruita. There is a real keen interest and some excitement about us coming. There are many people looking for a real/authentic, contemporary church that they can connect with. I believe that the Holy Spirit is preparing the way for us to reach into this community. While we are primarily trying to reach those who are unchurched or dechurched, we are also in need of solid Christian people who are looking for a mission to become involved with. My prayer is that God will bring to ALC all those whom he desires to be part of this new ministry.

Sooooooo... Tell your friends, acquaintances and neighbors to come and see what God is doing at Abundant Life Church.

Blessings
