What Am I Thinking?

Hey all,

I always thought I was a fairly contemporary guy. I like to keep up on the latest things especially when it comes to technology -- oh my, I just thought of the groom's song from Napoleon Dynamite -- whoa! Anyway, I have been reading and noticing that blogging has become the latest thing. What's blogging? It is short for web log. It is a place to journal your thoughts, ideas and, of course rantings and musings and let others comment and respond. Kind of cool, eh <= (a little bit of Canadian there)

So, what do you think of the idea?

I plan on posting some serious spiritual issue stuff here for you to comment on. If you check it out regularly you'll probably find some challenges. We can probably get some good discussions going here.

God Speaks Through Life

Life seems really busy these days. It always seems to pick up speed as we head toward the end of the school year. And, once again, we are preparing for another graduation. Nate graduates this year. There are many events to attend including the last play and concerts not to mention a scholarship award ceremony. After returning from my whirlwind tour of South Dakota and Iowa, I was greeted to a sick dog who needed a vet's attention. Bailey had a fast growing absess on her face just below the eye. By Sunday it was difficult to look at her without wanting to flinch. Tired and worn I found myself crying to God from some respite. I have been missing my extended prayer times and can feel it. Things, They are a Changin'

Alright, since the closing of Abundant Life Church our house is up for sale and I'm going to back to Seminary to finish my Master of Divinity. WOW! I never thought I'd say that. But when God says, "Go", you go. Jeremy and I arrived safe and sound in Grand Rapids, Michigan on Wednesday Feb 22. We left early on Tuesday morning with no bad weather or vehicle trouble over the two day journey. Freda is staying behind to sell the house. Josh and Nate are with her. We realize this is going to be tough, but God is faithful and He will do it. So stay tuned for the latest updates on our new journey. 'til next time.

See God Work. Work God Work...

God is good... All the time... And all the time... God is good. That's something we say a lot in our church family. Why? Because it is true. As the pastor I am privileged to hear a lot of stories of what God is doing in people's lives. I have tried to instill in our small church the joy of sharing our God sightings. After awhile you hear some common themes in people's stories. Some times the theme is, "when I finally realized that I couldn't do it and surrendered it to God, everything changed; things began to happen that only God could do." I don't know how many times I've heard how someone who desperately wanted to get married and had tried so hard to find that special someone gave it up to God. They couldn't seem to meet that right one. They were moving from relationship to relationship but never connecting with that one person who would be their soulmate.
